- Ba ngày sau khi thành muỗi trưởng thành muỗi bắt đầu hút máu người, tạo trứng và bắt đầu một vòng đời mới. Muỗi cái hút máu người vì nó cần protein trong máu để tạo trứng
- 7 ngày sau khi nó đốt một người mang virus nó có thể truyền bệnh cho người khác, đây là giai đoạn mà virus nhân lên và tập trung ở tuyến nước bọt của muỗi
- Trung bình trong tự nhiên muỗi sống khoảng 2 tuần, có thể đẻ được 3 lần mỗi lần độ 100 trứng
- Trứng muỗi aedes có thể tồn tại trong điều kiện khô ráo đến 9 tháng. Sau đó nếu gặp điều kiện thuận lợi sẽ nở thành ấu trùng rồi sau đó thành muỗi
